Class video of the week
We are excited to welcome our very own Stanislavski Student ALEXANDRA CADENA as the new instructor for our Kids and Teens.
Alex recently graduated from the prestigious Yale University with Ecology and Evolutionary Biology & Theatre Studies and is currently doing her internship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center, while continuing taking her Stanislavski Method Acting Classes in the evening at Next Actor Studio, where she has been a member for the past few years, whenever she would be in Houston on holidays.
Previously, Alex directed the musical 'Under' in New York that played at several festivals.
This year, Alex debuted as a producer in a short film titled Dream Girl, that will be screened at the upcoming 'Niff Houston International Film Festival' in October. Alex also acted in this short that was shot in New Haven with several other Yale Alumni.
There cannot be a better teacher for the kids to learn from than this bright, intelligent, energetic scientist and artist who has proper film acting training from the best film acting studio in Houston (Next Actor Studio) and theatre training from the same Ivy League school that produced Meryl Streep and Jodie Foster.
Due to Hurricane Harvey, several of our classes from August 25 have been rescheduled. Please check our calendar page for the revised start dates of Sept. classes for kids, teens and screenwriting classes. Editing classes have been pushed back to October. Students who will miss the class due to evacuation or for water in their area, are able to make up on later dates. We appreciate your patience and understanding that helped us to coordinate such changes at a short notice. Please be safe and stay dry. We will continue to update our changes via twitter handle @nextactorstudio.

Next Actor Stanislavski Student ROMARIO SOLIS was the best actor at the 3rd Annual Niff Houston International Film Festival in 2017, where films from all over the world were judged for the festival that takes place in Houston in October each year. Bilingual student Romario was handpicked from a beginners' class by Stanislavski Instructor Trisha Ray to audition for the lead role of David in her then casting film Orphan Train. Watching him work his scenes in class, Trisha felt he could be trusted to carry the role in Spanish, playing a Mexican orphan who stands up against the unjust Yatze (San Banarje). Out of several experienced actors who auditioned for the part, Romario, who had never acted before, was chosen to carry the film alongside a big star Mahie Gill and be part of location shoots that sprawled across Texas. While editing, the producers decided to make a series out of the film and the role of David was extended and Romario proved his dedication and commitment to the project by giving another good performance. Currently Romario is finishing Orphan Train and also writing a script with his classmate Erik Foster to shoot sometime in 2017. Follow the news on our facebook and Instagram page.
